IMG_6581I write fiction and nonfiction for kids. My poem, A Cowgirl Breakfast, appeared in the March 2016 issue of Spider Magazine and my story, Incredible Inchworm, will appear in an upcoming issue of Highlights.

My latest book, CHILDREN ON THE AMERICAN FRONTIER, will engage readers with diverse, historical experiences of life during Westward Expansion. True accounts feature children that lived in or moved to the west between 1850 and 1910. Native American accounts, overland journeys, Orphan Train riders, and Homesteaders after Reconstruction are covered in this book. Click on My Books for information and links to lesson plans.

I am the Assistant Regional Advisor for the Inland Northwest chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). You can check out our upcoming events here: https://inlandnw.scbwi.org/
